    You should visit it to admire an example of rococo style in the island of Ortigia

    Palazzo Impellizzeri is one of the noble rococo buildings of Siracusa; located in the island of Ortigia, along the majestic Via Maestranza.

    The residence is dated 1894, and is in rococo style as stated by the frieze above the main balcony. The façade has a trabeation decorated with floral motifs and on the cornice human faces. On the internal polychrome flooring, there are the coats of arms of the families and the letter “G” indicating the belonging to the Loggia.

    It presents a spectacular culminating façade with a frame consisting of 32 masks with rich floral finishes. The façade was completed in 1894, as stated in the frieze of the central balcony. The round-arched portal is enriched with capitals with floral decorations.

    The emblem of the Impellizzeri family is placed in the the arch with a shield in which a large fish rests on a rough sea. It has a large courtyard inside.
