MOGAM – Modern Gallery of Arts and Motors – is the only Art and Motors gallery-museum throughout Italy and it is born from the passion for automobiles and visual arts.

From this union has sprung the idea of founding an association that promotes culture through the permanent exhibition of its collection that will involves you projecting you into a new and exciting dimension.

MOGAM is an emblem of “Made in Italy” and it provides a venue of about 2.000 mq2 is situated in the heart of a beautiful park, designed by Professor Ippolito Pizzetti, in the city of Catania.

Inside the MOGAM Museum Gallery, in addition to the main art and car museum rooms, there is also a section dedicated to the “Targa Florio” where there are displayed various antiques including books, trophies, photographs and other “memorabilia”. MOGAM also in its collection includes magazines and rare art and motoring books and onlookers memorabilia that they were part of a lived experience of the last century and that enrich the cultural offerings of the Gallery-Museum.

Alongside the exhibition, regularly MOGAM organizes sporting events and devotes its space to the hospitality of modern and contemporary art exhibitions and the promotion of culture in general. In addition, for many cultural and sporting events, are often required to MOGAM some rare and valuable pieces of its own collection. To cite just a few examples: for the exhibition “The Myth of Speed”, presented in the spring of 2008 at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome, it was given a work of the futurist master Umberto Boccioni.

On the anniversary of 60th year of Ferrari in Maranello held on 23th and 24th June 2007, it has been given an important collection of car: the Ferrari 166 Formula 2 with which Andrea De Adamich won in 1968 the “Temporada Argentina.”

MOGAM is a private museum sponsored by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development and by the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Catania.

Free and guided visits can be made only by reservation. On Saturday afternoon and Sunday, the guided visits are made only for groups of more then 15 people.
